All Aboard!
All Aboard with the Shadowlight Artists – Journeys through access, freedom, and belonging
All Aboard is an exhibition by disabled and neurodiverse artists exploring how public transport feels, not in theory, but in lived experience. For many people, public transport represents freedom, connection, and independence. For others, it can also bring uncertainty, sensory overload, anxiety, or exclusion. These experiences often coexist, shaped by personal needs, design decisions, and the ways public spaces are managed and shared.
This exhibition brings together artists whose work reflects their own journeys through buses, trains, stations, and platforms. Through a range of creative approaches, they offer perspectives that are frequently overlooked in conversations about transport, accessibility, and inclusion. All Aboard is not about speaking for disabled and neurodiverse people, but about making space for their voices to be seen, felt, and listened to.
The Exhibition opened at Oxford Parkway Railways Station on 13th March 2026. Visiting Oxford Parkway nationalrail.co.uk/stations/oxford-parkway

The Shadowlight Artists and Film Oxford
Film Oxford is a community arts charity with 40 years’ experience delivering creative projects and training in East Oxford. Our mission is to spark creativity through accessible workshops, events, and socially impactful programmes, especially for disadvantaged communities.
In 2026, to mark our 40th anniversary, we will move into a new, purpose-built space at East Oxford Community Centre, supported by Oxford City Council; a recognition of our long-term commitment to local communities.
A core part of our work is the award-winning Shadowlight Artists, a collective of talented learning‑disabled artists from Oxfordshire. Their work has been shown locally, nationally, and internationally, including in London, Brighton, Newcastle, the USA, Brazil, Australia, the Netherlands, and Greece.
Members have a range of physical, communication, and learning disabilities. They meet regularly to shape their own creative programmes and have expressed a strong desire for more opportunities to create and exhibit their work. They also share their skills by running creative workshops for other people with learning disabilities in art, filmmaking, and drama.
Project Commissioned by:
Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire Community Rail Partnership (GOCRP) is a grassroots organisation, working to strengthen our community’s relationship with train travel and public transport in our region. We do that by engaging with and listening to our community and visitors, to understand their needs, thoughts and opinions on travelling by rail and other sustainable modes of public transport.
When we build trusting, confident relationships, we can bring about lasting change. We also drive research-led initiatives, influence policy and work closely with industry partners, stakeholders, and local government to create a system that is inclusive for all – today, tomorrow, and for the future.
